Tiger Woods’s Ryder Cup record went from bad to worse when he lost two more matches yesterday despite many expecting the reformed star to shine in the team format.
The second most prolific major champion of all time now has nine wins, 19 losses and one halved match in Ryder Cup fourball and foursomes.
He has now lost seven consecutive times in the team format but on his three defeats at Le Golf National, Woods believes he has played better than the results suggest.
“Just pretty pissed off, the fact that I lost three matches, and didn’t feel like I played poorly,” he said.

The golf star’s real name is Eldrick Tont Woods.
He was born in California in 1975 and is the only child of Earl and Kultida Woods (née Punsawad).
The 42-year-old’s forename was chosen by his mother, who is originally from Thailand, because it began with “E” (for Earl) and ended with “K” (for Kultida).
