Mathew Knowles on reuniting with Beyoncé: ‘She gave me a huge hug’

Johannesburg – In a recent interview with TMZMathew Knowles recalled how he surprised Beyoncé and her mother Tina at the final OTR II concert in Seattle which lead to the cute snaps shared of all three of them together.

The 66-year-old talent manager described the moments that led up to the memorable snaps shared by Tina on her Instagram, saying: “I went up to Seattle it was the last show of the tour and I wanted to surprise her by bringing her a dozen lovely red roses.”

He then goes on to reveal how he instructed that the roses get sent up to her fitting room, even though Bey wasn’t aware he was in the crowd – Mathew also explained how he was there by the time Beyoncé walked out of her fitting room. “She gave me this huge, huge hug that only daughters can give to their dads.”

“It was a warm and enduring, positive moment,” said the Daddy lessons hitmaker’s father before he continued to elaborate on how it was in actual fact Bey who suggested that they capture the pleasantly surprising moment together.

“The conversation was more of her being surprised of the fact that I was there and then she wanted to take a photo of the three of us. That was important to her and important to all of us.”

Mathew also said that he remains amicable with his ex-wife following their divorce in 2011. “We’ve never been enemies I always said nothing but positive words for Tina”
