Drive Safer With An LED Fog Light Kit

Fog lights are not a type of automotive lighting that you will need everyday, but they definitely come in handy. During inclement weather, your standard headlights can cause significant amounts of glare, making it difficult to see the road ahead. You can drive more safely in any condition with a Diode Dynamics LED fog light kit.

The idea of fog lights is a pretty brilliant one. Your headlights are not going to be much use in the fog because every tiny droplet of water hanging in the air is capable of reflecting light back towards you. Fog lights increase visibility by creating a thin band of light and casting it down on the road directly in front of your vehicle. This avoids creating glare while allowing you to see the road ahead.

If your halogen fog light bulbs aren’t providing enough visibility, consider upgrading to an LED fog light kit. Diode Dynamics recently released their new SS3 LED Pod Fog Light Kits, which allow you to replace your factory fog light housing with SS3 3 inch LED Pods. Each kit includes custom designed brackets, which allow for bolt-on installation, no modification needed!

hese 3 inch light pods apart from others on the market are their advanced total internal reflection (TIR) optics. This allows the SS3 LED Pod to shine in a highly efficient, useful beam pattern that is legal for on road use. The pods offered with the kits are available in two SAE compliant beam patterns. The first is Diode Dynamics’ SAE fog pattern, which creates an 80 degree wide band of light that will increase your visibility even in thick fog, and the second is an SAE driving pattern that was designed to supplement your high beams.

Diode Dynamics offers many custom kits for over 100 different vehicles. You can choose between the following SS3 Fog Light Kits.

  •  Type A – Many Acura, Ford, Honda, Nissan, and Subaru models
  •  Type B – 2014-2019 Toyota Tundra, 2012-2019 Tacoma, 4Runner, Corolla, and more
  •  Type GM – Many Chevy, GMC, Ford, and Pontiac models
  •  Type M – Jeep JK Wrangler and Jeep JL Sahara with factory installed plastic bumpers
  •  Type MR – JK and JL Jeep Wranglers with factory installed steel bumpers
  •  Type FT – 2007-2014 Ford F-150, 2005-2011 Toyota Tacoma, 2007-2013 Tundra, and more
  •  Type F2 – 2015-2020 Ford F-150, 2017-2020 F-250/F-350

Installing these kits is simple. All you have to do is remove your factory fog light housing. Then attach the bracket to the SS3 pod and secure it to your vehicle’s existing fog light location using the same mounting points. For many models, the fog lights can typically be easily accessed through the wheel well. When testing the connection, you may have to unplug your connector and rotate the socket 180 degrees before plugging it back in. Once this is complete, you can adjust the downward angle of your new fog lights to comply with your state and local laws.

If you want to see further no matter how severe the weather, an LED fog light kit will help ensure that you can always see the road ahead. Each of these kits comes with an 8 year warranty and the LEDs within these lights are designed to last over 40,000 hours, so you can drive with confidence knowing that these lights were built to last. If you have any questions about these lights or the installation process, you can contact a member of the Diode Dynamics team by calling 314-205-3033 or emailing [email protected].
