Bajaj Dominar Review – autoX

The Indian two wheeler space has been on a high in recent times with every major bike manufacturer operating in India, and therefore the demand for affordable enthusiast’s motorcycles is on an increase as well. In the 250cc-400cc segment, there are 15 bikes you can choose from, the Dominar is one of a better value product. But things have changed a lot since it was launched and Bajaj has updated the Dominar to give the competitors a run for their money. Our Bajaj Dominar review further reveals…

Starting with the design department in our Dominar review, the Dominar was already a good looking machine and now it looks even better. The Dominar still has the muscular and aggressive style of a power cruiser and it now comes in a new Green shade – borrowed from the Japanese partner Kawasaki. The other changes include an upside down front fork, a dual exhaust setup and the headlight is now more compact. It continues to offer 320mm single disc at the front, an LCD digital instrument cluster, and a decal on the fuel tank.

Out on the road, we start testing the bike for our Dominar review and our first impression was that the new engine feels more responsive and powerful. One thing the Dominar did lack in the pre-facelift version was that the engine felt low on power and throttle response. Now, the 373cc single cylinder motor is tuned to produce 40hp of power and 35Nm of torque. The initial acceleration feels the same though, where the new engine stands out is the mid-range and the top end. The power delivery is good and enjoyable, cruising on the highway is enjoyable and the dual exhaust setup also sounds better.

One of the biggest highlights of the new Dominar is the handling, the new upside down forks create an overall better driving experience. The steering feels responsive and direct, the front wheel stays planted and changing directions is easy. The seat is really comfortable and the seating position was really appreciated by our expert. The Dominar is one of the best bikes in the under 2 lakhs price segment and the new update has improved what was already a good overall product.
