Activation of Airtel SIM

Airtel is the third-largest mobile network operator in India, and you would surely prefer to buy one Airtel SIM for yourself as it is one of the fastest networks too.

If you are planning to change your existing operator to Airtel, you can easily do it by yourself. Are you one of them who do not know How to Activate Airtel Sim? Then follow some simple procedures for the activation of new SIM in your handset.

For all the new Airtel SIM users, they should be aware of the processes as to how to activate their prepaid or postpaid Airtel number.

1. Activate Airtel Prepaid SIM

If you use an Airtel Prepaid number, you need to complete the KYC process if you have a new prepaid connection.

You will receive signals on your number after which you need to tele-verify your number. Dial 59059 to verify your number. Finally, you get directed to an auto-recorded call for the number activation process.

2. Activate Airtel Postpaid SIM

If you wish to activate your Airtel postpaid number, you need to follow a two-step verification process.

First is tele Verification, where you need to dial 59059 to receive signals on your new connection. Second is the Address Verification, where an executive from Airtel operator will visit your location to verify the address that you have submitted in your documents as proof.  

3. Upgrade Airtel Prepaid 2G/3G to 4G

To upgrade your Airtel Prepaid number from 2G or 3G to 4G, first visit your nearest Airtel showroom with 4G LTE based Phone, your existing active SIM cards, one passport size photo, and address/ID proof copy.

Select Prepaid from the given menu and then choose SIM SWAP. Enter your phone number. Use your existing Phone to send 4GSIMSWAP NEW_SIM_NUMBER to 121. “Reply 1 to Proceed” and send it to 121. Pay Rs — 50 for the new SIM Card.

4. Activate Airtel SIM, which is Deactivated

As per TRAI regulations, services to your Airtel Prepaid Mobile connection gets deactivated if it is having less than Rs.20 balance and if there is no usage for 90 days.

You need to request for reactivation via email to [email protected] or customer care. Also, you can visit the nearest Airtel store and submit a reactivation request there.

Just carry your Address and Photo Id proofs with you. You may receive a confirmation call, and then your number will be reactivated.
