4 Good Reasons to Visit a Doctor Even During Pandemic

In the reality of the coronavirus world, health care has completely changed. Most doctors offer remote appointments or cancel appointments because of the deadly virus. But it’s impossible to cancel or postpone health problems even if a pandemic is in full swing. Depending on the severity of your condition and symptoms you may need to visit the doctor’s office. But it’s important to determine if you need emergency care to address your disease.

Below are 4 health problems that cannot wait until the pandemic is over. If you experience one of these health issues, you need to visit a doctor ASAP to prevent serious health consequences.

1. Sexually transmitted diseases

Sexually transmitted diseases cannot wait until the end of the pandemic. The common symptoms of STDs in men include pain during sex or urination, rashes on the penis, and abnormal discharges from the penis. Women often have symptoms like pain during sex, itching, and unusual discharges from the vagina. The first symptoms of STDs are very similar to UTI.

Most STDs are curable if you start treatment at the early stages of the disease. Most doctors can make a diagnosis based on symptoms, but you need to take a test to specify the disease. Depending on the type of STD the doctor can prescribe you an appropriate treatment. If left STD untreated it can progress and pelvic inflammatory disease. This condition can lead to chronic pelvic pain or infertility.

2. Allergy

Allergy is usually not a life-or-death situation, but it is extremely important to treat your allergies. Firstly, it is crucial to treat allergy because its symptoms are very similar to COVID-19. You can easily confuse these two health conditions. This can take a toll on your overall health and be life-threatening. Even if you regularly experience an allergy, you still need to contact your doctor and take a coronavirus test. This can help you ensure your health and the health of others.

The common symptoms of allergy include sneezing and an itchy nose, watering eyes, chest tightness, shortness of breath, a cough, and a general feeling of sickness. As you can see, these symptoms are really similar to COVID-19. If allergy medications don’t help you relieve the symptoms, let your doctor know about it. Don’t wait until the situation becomes critical and life-threatening.

3. Extreme abdominal pain

Severe abdominal pain can indicate serious health issues that differ in their causes and severity. The most serious overall health conditions include heart attack, appendicitis, kidney failure, and liver abscess. In the case of abdominal pain, you need to contact your doctor. The doctor will check your symptoms and refer you to a specialist in your health condition.

Other potentially dangerous causes of abdominal pain are ectopic pregnancy and cystitis. If you suspect you have an ectopic pregnancy, you need to visit a gynecologist for a pelvic examination and ultrasound.

4. Urinary tract infection

Your urinary tract infection cannot wait until the coronavirus pandemic ends. If left this disease untreated, the infection can progress further. It can spread from your bladder to kidneys which is more serious. A kidney infection requires hospitalization and complex treatment. It is easier for you to treat urinary tract infections in the early stages.

If you experience burning when you pee, urgency, or frequency when urinating, blood in the urine, and lower abdominal pain you need to contact your doctor immediately.

The bottom line

It can be scary for you to visit public places like hospitals during a pandemic. But if left untreated certain health issues it can develop further and become even more dangerous than coronavirus. If you have one of the health problems mentioned above, make an appointment with your doctor. This can help you address severe health consequences.
